Job Summary
Tessitura seeks an experienced and strategic Vice President of Marketing. The Vice President of Marketing will develop a world-class SaaS B2B marketing function at Tessitura to support the growth of our brand and the vitality of our community at scale.

The Vice President of Marketing will lead a team of marketing & communication professionals (currently 8 FTEs) focused on product marketing, member marketing & communications, and external & brand marketing. As the leader of this team, the Vice President of Marketing will build capacity and efficiency across the team in support of strategic company priorities. Key collaborators will include Vice President of Strategic Growth, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships & Solutions, Vice President of Learning & Community, Vice President of Support, Vice President of Product, VPs of Consulting, and Tessitura's Executive team.

The Vice President of Marketing will be a key member of leadership within the Growth group, informing and supporting priorities across Growth. The Vice President of Marketing will also be a key member of Tessitura's company leadership team, currently comprised of the executive team and vice presidents from across the company. The Vice President of Marketing will need to be both creative and pragmatic and excel at collaboration and experimentation to ensure that marketing efforts support the needs of the company at large.

This is a full-time work-from-home position with occasional travel required. The compensation reflects a U.S. salary range based on current market data. The candidate's skills, experience, and other relevant factors will determine the final compensation. Candidates must reside in the United States. The ideal candidate for this role has 10+ years of marketing leadership experience, including at the VP (or equivalent) level and in the B2B tech space.

Vice President of Marketing Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a cohesive multi-year marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and sentiment across all key audiences.
  • Provide strategic direction to the marketing team, setting both short- and long-term goals and increasing velocity of marketing output.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to members of the marketing team to drive performance and professional development.
  • Build scalable marketing operations that enable better data-driven decision making and more efficient execution at scale.
  • Design and manage the marketing budget to maximize the company's investment in marketing: ensure efficient resource allocation, including accurately forecasting and tracking expenses, staffing requests, and marketing ROI.
  • Build strong collaborating relationships with key leaders across the company.
  • Ensure that all marketing copy is clear, persuasive and actionable.
  • Monitor the success of all marketing efforts, adjusting plans and targets when necessary.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to our Executive team on all aspects of marketing and reputation management.
  • Participate as a key member of company and Growth leadership teams.
  • Embody and model company values of respect, honesty, collaboration, excellence, and creativity.
  • Provide marketing thought leadership to the Tessitura community and the arts and culture industry at large.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Expertise:
  • 10+ years of experience leading successful multi-disciplinary marketing teams.
  • Previous experience with B2B marketing & communications, ideally in the tech space.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns.
  • Strong project management and collaborative leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication and editorial skills.
  • Proven track record as an excellent collaborator.
  • Comfort with core marketing technologies, including CRM, CMS, and digital marketing tools.
  • Deep understanding of the needs of arts and cultural organizations.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience leading marketing functions at the VP (or equivalent) level.
